The Surrealist Horses are part of a collection produced by the county’s craftsmen and have been created under the surveillance of the owners of Llibreria Surrealista. As handcrafted pieces one must take into consideration that each one is unique, both in colour and shape and thus no two are identical.
For Salvador Dalí the horse symbolised power and luxury. Whenever he wanted to portray the feeling of power he did so by using a horse. This long-legged horse can be seen in the piece "The Temptation of St. Anthony" from 1946.
